These unique work of art are created through the following process:

Each image is shot on location using Time Zero film with a Polaroid SX-70 camera.
While the picture is developing, it is submerged into approximately one inch of water heated to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. While submerged, the artist sculpt and re-form the photograph by using a variety of tools creating an impressionistic image.

Certain of these images are selected and then treated as fresh canvas using French oils and inks to create an original mixed media work of art.

Additional images are enlarged and printed onto watercolor paper or canvas, then painted entirely by Kenario. This process allows the sculpted photograph to show through as a new mixed media original. Having created sculpted Polaroids since 1997, Kenario has an impressive collection of subject matter ranging from abstract to visionary. With over 30 years of photographic and painting experience, Kenario stands among a few artists worldwide who have mastered this art-form.

Ken and Mario shot their last manipulable film in August of 2007 and are now concentrating on cataloging and exhibiting their collection.
